My name is Niels Filter, from sunny South Africa. I'm a technology enthusiast, whose been in the industry for about 17 years now. I've been in various roles, such as developer, architect, SRE and dev manager, also having worked in various industries.

Architecture, cloud native development, scaling & machine learning are areas I'm passionate about. I'm especially grateful to have received exposure, not just on a personal capactity, but in my profressional career.

From a soft skills or non technical front, I enjoy working with various types of people and cherish any opportunity to learn from others and also impart what I've learnt over the years.

Family is a core value for me and I'm thankful for my beautiful wife and 3 boys.

The best way that I relax is to get me outdoors. I love most outdoor activities, including sports. I also dabble a little bit with the guitar when I have some time.

I'm involved in my local church and community and am always open to ideas on how to empower those in need, especially when it comes to introducing underprivileged youngsters into the technology industry.
